Main purpose of job
The main purpose of an External Affairs Manager is to oversee and manage an organization's interactions and relationships with external stakeholders, including media, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and the public.


Job description:
Responsible for external communication and corporate sustainability (CSR) in all its aspects and supports the Head of Corporate Affairs (CA) Director in the Public Affairs (PA) agenda.
You will have accountability for supporting the Head of CA to manage all corporate affairs-related activities across all markets in which we operate. You will work with individual Country Managers and HR representatives to bring our CA vision to life. You will also work closely with our Head of Internal Communications to ensure a joined-up approach to all IPF Digital communications. This role will be based in Tallinn, Estonia but with responsibility for programmes across all Digital operations and markets.
Focus on creating and implementing communication and CSR strategy, a plan for the annual period, and delivering on approved KPIs. Active seeking communication topics in the company exploit synergies with other functions as well as with PA and CSR topics.
Cooperation with the Head of CA on external contact with stakeholders, especially in the field of NGOs and associations. Monitoring of the external media and deep understanding of the regulatory environment to ensure proper evaluation of external information sources. Responsible for consolidation and reporting of external communication and CSR activities.

 

Key accountabilities
• Increasing the reputation of the company and the non-banking sector through external communication activities and projects
• Responsibility for the preparation and activation of the annual external communication and CSR, according to the approved IPF Digital and Group strategy and KPIs
• Proactive seeking of synergies with other functions with HR (internal communication), Legal, Marketing, and Sales
• Active cooperation with IPFD markets, coordination of sharing "best practices", use of synergies
• Responsibility for the external appearance of the company (website and other owned media)
• Helping to train new or less experienced employees in case of external communication needs. Participates in the leadership of other colleagues by providing expertise and skills in the field of communication and CSR.
• Providing professional assistance and advice to other departments/employees of the Company in their activities that have an impact on the Company's external communication.
• Outperforming Share of Voice (SoV) and reach of relevant competitors in non-owned media
• Annual growth of help Invisibles and the initiative footprint across stakeholders and in the media
• Developing informal and formal relationships with journalists, NGO employees, and other important stakeholders.
• Monitoring developments that could have a critical impact on the Company's business and perception. Proactively proposes a strategy and measures to prevent negative developments.
• Supervising communication in case of crises.
• Coordinating activities, using synergies, and sharing best practices with colleagues in other IPF markets or the group.

 

Qualifications:
• You will be Degree qualified, or equivalent and ideally hold a relevant degree or qualification pertaining to Corporate Affairs (Public Relations/Journalism, Business Administration, Law, Public Administration or similar)

 

Knowledge:
• Solid knowledge of Public Relations and Public Affairs, managing stakeholders
• Understanding of Project Management principles, practices, techniques and tools
• Understanding of Non-Profit Sector and managing collaboration with non-profit organisations
• Understanding of social media and campaigning
