Legal Manager
Main purpose of job
Ensure the provision of effective legal services to IPF Digital AS and the IPF Digital group and to identify, manage, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks. The Legal Manager is responsible for supporting the identification, management, and mitigation of legal and regulatory risks related to the e-money institution license and creditor license of IPF Digital AS.
Key accountabilities
Regulatory:
- Regulatory communication management, a crucial task involving oversight, preparation, and coordination, particularly with the Estonian Financial Supervision Authority (EFSA) and Consumer Protection Authority.
- Being the quality stamp of good quality, easy to understand, transparent and kind regulatory communication.
- E-money license support: keeping the overview of license requirements, EFSA expectations, license Q&A, and legal support to the Compliance team.
- Management of EMI Internal rules: coordination of owners' input, legal sign-offs.
- Support the IPF Digital group business to enable compliance and optimization of business operations in areas such as regulatory compliance with the e-money and creditor license of IPF Digital AS, e-money and payment services related products, as well as credit product development, consumer protection, data protection, etc.
- Support the EMI license expansion, passporting applications, and working with external legal advisers.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice to product development and changes: consumer credit product-related changes sign-offs, value-added services regulatory sign-offs, and product terms and conditions.
- Supporting the business with regulatory advisory and mitigation of regulatory risks.
General:
- Provide timely expert legal analysis and advice to support decision-making as required by the business.
- Work with various business functions to identify potential areas where your legal advice and input can be valuable.
- Stay up to date on applicable laws, regulations, and judicial decisions, and monitor legislative changes that may affect the company and its customers, especially in maintaining and complying with the requirements of Estonian e-money and creditor license of IPF Digital AS.
- Help employees improve their ability to identify and address potential legal issues.
- Actively participate in the development of best practices and take a proactive approach to anticipating legal problems and providing solutions.
- Collaborate with and manage external legal partners in IPF Digital markets.
- Coordinate with the legal team of the IPF group based in the UK.
- Serve as a role model to promote appropriate risk culture and raise regulatory awareness within the teams of IPF Digital, especially concerning the requirements applicable to the e-money institution license.
